Bruce Marshall and Lou Seno Join NAFA As New Board Members
Edgewater, MD: National Aircraft Finance Association (NAFA) is pleased to announce the election of two new board members: Bruce Marshall, Executive VP and General Counsel of AIC Title Service, and Lou Seno, founding shareholder and CEO of Jet Support Services, Inc.
“We are very pleased to welcome Bruce and Lou to the NAFA Board,” said Jim Blessing, president of NAFA. “Lou has always been a strong supporter of NAFA one way or another, having won our Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. He gives us additional depth as we expand on our organization’s strategic priorities. Bruce has been active with NAFA’s Regulatory Committee and will take the helm as chair, spearheading our energy with the FAA’s planned modernization of the registration process.”
About Bruce Marshall:
Bruce L. Marshall brings over 20 years of experience in aviation legal matters, including contracts, regulations, and litigation, to his role as Executive Vice President and General Counsel at AIC. In this role, he helps ensure that AIC’s clients and leadership are protected as they move through unprecedented FAA and industry changes.
Marquis Who’s Who recognized Bruce as a recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award in 2020. In August 2019, he was a recipient of the Drinker Biddle First Chair Top General Counsel Award for the third year in a row. The First Chair Awards is an annual selection of in-house counsel who have, through their hard work and innovation, made significant contributions to the legal community nationwide. He received his initial First Chair Award in August 2017 and his second in August 2018. Bruce was also recognized in the November 2013 issue of D CEO Magazine as one of Dallas-Fort Worth’s top corporate attorneys following his win as Outstanding General Counsel or Chief Legal Officer in the Small Legal Department category at the Association of Corporate Counsel and D CEO’s 2013 Corporate Counsel Awards. Individually a 2011 winner of the Texas General Counsel Forum’s Magna Stella Award in the Small Legal Department category and finalist in the Major Litigation category, Bruce and his team also won Texas Lawyer’s 2013 Legal Department of the Year in the Diversity and Quality of Life category.
Prior to AIC, Bruce served as Senior Director and Division General Counsel of Bombardier’s Flexjet fractional aircraft ownership program where he strategically managed two cases challenging state and federal taxes that affected the entire fractional aircraft ownership industry and resulted in the refund of millions of dollars of paid taxes.
Additionally, Bruce served as Chair of the State Bar of Texas Aviation Law Section for the years 2011-2012 and 2019. Adding to his depth of experience, he also taught Corporate Jet Investor’s Aircraft Transactions Masterclass US in November of 2019.
About Lou Seno:
Louis C. Seno has held senior management positions with the business aircraft units of Boeing Capital Corp. and GE Capital Solutions. He was a founding shareholder and CEO of Jet Support Services, Inc. (JSSI) where he still serves as CEO Emeritus, and special advisor to the Board of Directors representing the company in a wide range of special projects. Additionally, he serves on the Board of the Experimental Aircraft Association and is an active board member of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. He has also served terms on the Board of Duncan Aviation and as Co-Chairman of the National Aircraft Resale Association (now the International Aircraft Deals Association, or IADA).
As an aviation enthusiast who has spent his entire career advocating for all forms of general aviation — from homebuilts to business jets — Lou also holds positions and titles that benefit the industry. His 25-year involvement with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University led to his being appointed Vice President and establishing the Office of Corporate Relations and Government Affairs. He currently serves on Industry Boards for The University’s College of Engineering and College of Business. Lou has also served on a host of Embry-Riddle committees, including finance, flight safety, and student life. He has been chair of ERAU’s development committee and a member of ERAU’s President’s Advisory Board and Board of Trustees.
Lou has been honored with the FAA Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award, the NBAA’s John P. Doswell Award, and the NAFA Lifetime Achievement Award. Not insignificantly, he is also a 6,500-hour pilot with an Airline Transport Pilot certificate and a Cessna Citation Jet type rating who has built three airplanes and has owned several single- and twin-engine aircraft. Today, he owns and flies an F33A Beechcraft Bonanza and an Aviat Husky A1-B on amphibious floats.
